“I like to be the patient’s advocate to make sure they don’t fall through the cracks.”
By Lindsey dunstedter
• Where did you receive your education? I did my undergraduate at Truman University, while my master’s and post-master’s work was completed at the University of Missouri. • How many years do you have in the field? I have been a nurse for 28 years, and a practicing nurse practitioner for 12 of those years.
• Why did you choose this profession? I like to be the patient’s advocate to make sure they don’t fall through the cracks of healthcare. I will be lecturing in the community to provide information about knee injuries and treatment: I want people to know there are ways to get rid of the pain. • Why did you choose Phelps County Regional Medical Center (PCRMC) and Rolla? I am from California, and I saw information about Dr. [Keith] Frederick and I am very picky about who I work with. I am very impressed by him. The people here are also really friendly and down to earth—really genuine.
