In today's changing healthcare climate, we know that part of staying well means being informed and up to date on health and wellness information. We have dedicated this issue of Vim & Vigor to help our patients stay apprised of ways to keep themselves and their families healthy. Read about the Affordable Care Act Marketplace insurance options on page 54 and about how PCRMC proactively hired Certified Application Counselors (CACs) to help people in our community navigate the sign-up process for healthcare insurance coverage. The CACs are readily available at our hospital to help people make important decisions about which insurance options are best for their families and needs. On pages 3 and 6 meet some of the newest additions to the PCRMC Physicians Group, family medicine physicians Kara Meler, DO, and Jason Meler, DO. These married physicians believe in healthy living and wellness initiatives in the treatment of their patients and in their personal lifestyles. We resume our long-standing "Innovators" series with Pecos Coble, DO, on page 49. Dr. Coble discusses his career as an internist and his love of inpatient medicine and also introduces another one of his jobs at PCRMC as the medical director of Medicare's Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs) program. His job as the medical director for RACs is one he takes very seriously, and he talks about how he and his team are working hard to recover lost monies for PCRMC.
