AuxiliAry Makeover for the PCRMC Beauty Shop Patients and employees can retreat to the newly updated beauty shop for salon services T he Auxiliary & Volunteer Services (AVS) department recently held an open house celebration for the grand opening of its newly renovated PCRMC beauty shop. The beauty shop, located on the skilled nursing floor, was created for the benefit of both patients and employees. "The idea behind the beauty shop is that when you look better, you feel better," says Tina Pridgeon, AVS director. "The AVS is committed to serving the hospital, but more importantly, we are committed to serving our hospital's patients. Anything we can do to ensure our patients have a good experience while at PCRMC is our primary goal." Also in attendance at the grand reopening was Kent Davis, plant operations director, who donated the material and labor to renovate the space. "The beauty shop needed updating," says Pridgeon. "With Kent and his staff's help, we were able to make it a relaxing space, more of a spalike retreat for our patients and patrons." The Auxiliary & Volunteer Services department ceremoniously cuts the ribbon at the beauty shop's grand reopening. "Another great supporter has been PCRMC Acute Rehab Director Jody DeLuca. The project would not have been successful without her input and willingness to work with us," says Pridgeon. The PCRMC Beauty Shop provides all the amenities of a professional salon: haircuts, colors and foils for highlights, waxing, perms, shampoos and styles.
