In the Right Place A Special Place for Sick Children N.C. Children’s Hospital and the work being done by the Pediatrics Department continues to improve the lives of local children. In fact, there are so many wonderful things happening at the Children’s Hospital that we wanted to bring you an entire issue focused on pediatrics, including two young patients who have been treated at UNC Health Care for years: 16-year-old Megan Willis, who has cystic brosis and will require treatment for the rest of her life, and 11-year-old Justin Price, who recently overcame an egg allergy thanks to a groundbreaking immunotherapy trial. In addition, the new chair of the Pediatrics Department, A. Wesley Burks, MD, who is also the physician-in-chief of the Children’s Hospital, has some exciting things planned.
