(215) 321-9662 www.mcneill-group.com FROM THE CED’S DESK The Official Publication of CAI New England New Directions, Building on Success T he chapter maintains its stride as volunteer leaders, including board members and committee chairs, kick off the New Year with a solid foundation and high expectations for the coming months. Despite a slumping 2009 economy, the chapter boasted unprecedented participation in the more than two dozen educational programs that turned out in excess of 1,500 board members and managers from around New England. In addition, special events, including the annual Golf Tournament, Awards Banquet and Conference & Expo, were sold-out events providing invaluable networking opportunities in a challenging economic environment. On the legislative front, legislative action committees (LAC) in Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont, took on important legislative initiatives in the best interest of condominium associations in those states. From this position of chapter involvement and member commitment, the 2010 board embraces the opportunity for even greater success in the coming months. With volunteer leaders elected from all chapter states, members serving on state regional committees and legislative action committees, the chapter maintains its position as the “Recognized Voice for New England Condominiums.” Guided by an updated mission and strategic plan, I am confident the experience and strong leadership of board members, taskforce members, committee chairs and committee members will take the chapter to even higher heights. The 2010 board members are introduced on page 14, and I would encourage you to contact them and share your concerns, ideas and comments. As I have so often noted, volunteers are the lifeblood of CAI and the New England Chapter. And, there has never been a better time to volunteer — you can make a difference.
