VERMONT C A I Local Advocates CAI Authorizes Vermont Legislative Action Committee (VTLAC) R e g i o n a l N e w s W ith the approval of the board of trustees, CAI welcomed the Vermont Legislative Action Committee (VTLAC), making it the 31st authorized CAI Legislative Action Committee (LAC) in the country. The Vermont LAC will represent members in the public policy arena, and work on state legislative and regulatory activities important to the creation and operation of community associations. Vermont members have worked diligently to establish a strong CAI presence in Vermont. And, thanks to the support of VTLAC founding members, legislative initiatives will now make that presence even stronger. Founding members include: David Boston, CMCA, AMS; Paul T. Carroccio, CMCA, AMS, PCAM; Jon Readnour, Esq.; John Watanabe, CMCA, AMS, PCAM; and Larry Wohler, CMCA, AMS. Volunteers continue to make great strides in getting the CAI brand out to prospective members, business partners, the general public and state legislators. Considering the activity of legislative action committees around the country, as well as the issue of manager licensing that has become a wide spread topic of discussion and with 10 states now having licensing or registration requirements in place, the VTLAC will continue to investigate and monitor the feasibility of a manager licensing bill in that state.
