and management contracts for the residential condominiums of the 1.33 million-square-foot, mixed-use
Echelon Seaport, as well as a consulting agreement
for 40 Trinity Place/Raffles, Back Bay's newest highrise luxury tower. Of these new contracts, DiSchino
said, "Once we've joined the development team as a
consultant, more often than not we assume property
management responsibility for a property as it nears
completion. Over the years, we have worked with 18
developers of significant properties that remain under
our management."
This is the case with the InterContinental Boston,
a mixed-use condominium comprised of luxury condominiums, a hotel, retail units, and a parking garage.
The property developer originally engaged Barkan
when the project was in concept stage. Barkan provided
a range of consulting services, from budgeting to scope
of resident services, staffing, building commissioning,
opening, and stabilization. Subsequent to managing
the transition from developer to board control of the
condominium, Barkan was retained by the association
and manages the property to this day.
