HOW DID YOU BECOME INVOLVED WITH CAI? When you're in the industry, being involved in CAI is important. American Properties Team, Inc., (APT) is a huge supporter of its managers being involved in CAI in order to keep up with industry trends. And it's always good to put faces with names of the industry professionals with whom you work every day. WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME? I enjoy everything from a nice dinner out to a sports game. I like to attend any sporting event. WHAT FORM HAS YOUR INVOLVEMENT TAKEN? Through the years, I've volunteered for the Golf Tournament Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee, and several others. APT encourages its managers to take part in all the CAI programs, whether they be educational or social. WHAT ACHIEVEMENTS ON BEHALF OF CAI ARE YOU PROUDEST OF? Being recognized as property manager of the year in 2014 by CAI - that was a huge accomplishment. It's always nice to be recognized by your communities and peers. WHAT WOULD IT SURPRISE PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT YOU? I'M A HUGE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS FOOTBALL FAN. IS THERE A PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT HAS HAD A PROFOUND IMPACT ON YOU? Professionally, it would be going from a single-site manager to a multi-site manager. It had an impact on me because I had to learn how to function differently in the management profession. It's a totally different managerial strategy. WHAT'S THE BEST ADVICE YOU'VE GOTTEN? When I was first hired by APT, one of the vice presidents at the time told me that no one can teach you your management style. You have to learn your own style. That has stuck with me.
