MORAVIAN COLLEGE BEGAN WITH A
SIMPLE MISSION: to empower our community
with the skills and knowledge to thrive for centuries to
come. In 1742, the Moravians led the way by being
the first school to educate women (and later the first
co-ed college in the Lehigh Valley) and help Bethlehem
establish a foundation to build a strong, educated core
for a budding city. More than 276 years later, I am
excited to share we are continuing our proud history of
community partnership through an initiative to become
the region's premier education solutions provider.
As we learned during this year's State of the Lehigh
Valley: Community Trends at a Glance report from
the LVRC, this is a period of major growth for our
workforce. Ninety percent of employers shared how
much they value a skilled workforce, yet nearly
three-quarters of them reported problems in recruiting,
hiring, and retaining employees. I believe strong
employee education provides a solution to the problem
rooted in those values.
Providing your employees with the opportunity to
sharpen their skills, advance in their careers, and live
an even more fulfilled life can only mean great things
for your organization and the community as a whole.
It is our intention to develop and transform learning
experiences that meet the needs of area employers, and
we want you to tell us what you need from partners
