Saving Lives,
BY DAVID BASLER
One Bar at a Time
Shawn Seipler stepped out of his Holiday Inn guest room and saw what he thought was his window of opportunity—five open doors and not a maid in sight.
Without giving it a second thought, he bolted in and out of each room, with a singular goal—collect the used soap. He dashed into each bathroom, grabbing the wet, and definitely used (“one of them by someone who was obviously very hairy,” Seipler said) bars of soap and quickly threw them into a plastic bag—racing the clock to finish before the maid returned.
