Though the sun may be setting on my tenure as President of ISTAT, the future of the Society has never been brighter. The combined Boards of ISTAT and the ISTAT Foundation have just completed a strategy session where the priorities of the Society were reafﬁrmed: 1. 2. 3. Increase Airline participation. Emphasize the “International” in ISTAT, expanding geographically. Enhance our members’ experience at the conferences.

As I pass the gavel to my able successor, Joe Ozimek of Boeing Capital Corporation, I’d like to thank each of you for the support you’ve shown for our beloved ISTAT. Throughout the deepest downturn in our industry, ISTAT members stuck together. I’d also like to thank Ron Pietrzak and the entire ISTAT staff, whose professionalism, hard work and creative ideas have enabled us to reach the success we now enjoy. Most of all, I’d like to thank the other Board members. Each and every Board member has worked countless hours for ISTAT and will continue to do so. As I write this letter, I see from the list of candidates for the open Board positions that ISTAT will remain in very capable hands. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve as President of ISTAT for the past two years. I look forward to working with Joe to ensure the continued success of this Society.
