ISTAT foundation ISTAT AirLink Partners with Airlines in Transition Summit ISTAT AirLink has been invited by the Centre for Aviation (CAPA) to join their Airlines in Transition (AIT) Summit. The event will feature a strong charity component with 10 percent of net Summit profits going to the ISTAT Foundation for AirLink. In addition, there will be a silent auction of donated memorabilia and a process for auctioning 30-minute meeting slots with airline CEOs. All net funds raised from these auctions will also go to AirLink via the ISTAT Foundation. The Summit will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, between 19-20 April 2012 and is to be a unique two-day forum for CEOs to debate the future direction of the airline industry. It will bring together the heads of leading low-cost and full-service airlines in an informal and high-quality setting. As low-cost airlines evolve and take on more of the characteristics of the full-service carriers and each seeks to connect more effectively to the other, a whole array of legal, operational, strategic, commercial and technological issues arise. Among these issues, the following will be addressed at the Summit: • The convergence of LCC and full service models in different regions. • The course of liberalization, mergers and acquisitions and the role of global alliances. • How IT is opening up new avenues for operations and cooperation between full service and low-cost airlines. • The effectiveness of dual brands and low-cost subsidiaries. • Regional variations and the impact of the rise of Asia on global aviation. ISTAT AirLink is proud to be the charity partner for this event. Further details about the conference can be found at www.airlineleader.com/worldAirlines/Home.
