Skytech-AIC appoints Jeff Solomon as Technical Director
Skytech-AIC, the UK-based aircraft lessor, airﬁnance and aircraft management company which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has appointed Jeff Solomon as Technical Director responsible for all aircraft and technical record inspections for the company’s owned and managed portfolios and for thirdparty clients. “We couldn’t be more pleased to have attracted someone of Jeff’s calibre and reputation,” said Skytech-AIC’s John Taylor. “Jeff is very well known and highly respected throughout the industry for his exceptionally broad aircraft engineering knowledge and expertise.” Jeff has more than 25 years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning and engineering. Initially a licensed engineer with British Airways, Jeff moved to Airclaims (Ascend) as an

aircraft maintenance consultant and then founded Aviation Support Group which was sold to Charles Taylor plc in 2009.

Jack Feir Appointed Appraiser Fellow-Administrative Director
Jack Feir replaced Bill Bath as the Appraiser Fellow-Administrative Director, ISTAT International Appraisers’ Program, on 1 February 2012. James E. Mathews, as the founder of the ISTAT International Appraisers’ Program in 1988, appointed Jack as its chairman in 1991 through 1994. Jack did a terriﬁc job during those formative years, and we look forward to a repeat performance. Thank you to Bill for his many years of service to ISTAT and for his intriguing Aviation History columns. In Memory
Christian Castang, a longstanding member of ISTAT, sadly passed away recently following a long battle against illness. The ISTAT community offers its condolences to Christian’s family, friends and colleagues.
