The ﬁnanciers’ panel, moderated by Tim Meyers of Boeing, offered important insight into the state of aviation ﬁnance. During breaks from the educational sessions, ISTAT members grabbed coffee and mingled, sharing thoughts on the cutting-edge topics presented throughout the day. The ISTAT Annual Conferences offer the distinct opportunity to share views and concerns about the industry with others who understand the unique challenges of the industry. The exhibitors also opened their booths at this time to provide opportunities to talk one-on-one with industry suppliers. “It is a privilege to be able to attend the ISTAT Conference and mingle with the best and the brightest in the aviation industry. The relationships and opportunities created over these few days are vital for the success of Contrail Aviation Support,” said Joe Kuhn, president of Contrail Aviation Support. During the President’s Gala Dinner on Tuesday evening, ISTAT President John Vitale presented Gil Speed with the 2010 ISTAT Award. “The industry is not only his vocation but his avocation,” remarked Vitale. A highly respected member and industry pioneer, Gil recounted memories from his many years in the aviation industry and the success of SpeedNews.
