GLOBAL COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT LEASING COMPANY Name: Andre Tchouamo Company: International Air Transport Association (IATA) Title/Position: IOSA Quality Control/Quality Assurance Expert School: University of Central Missouri, MO, USA Major: Master of Science in Aviation Safety Describe your job: My main responsibility is to conduct the full quality control/ quality assurance of the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) reports in order to ensure their integrity, completeness and validity. The aim is to have all airlines that apply to be in the IOSA Registry to be registered within ﬁxed deadlines. IOSA means IATA Operational Safety Audit. The goal of IOSA is to provide a standardized audit program of the operational management and control systems of an airline, based on internationally recognized standards and supported by a rigorous quality-assurance process. The purpose is to serve the airline industry in terms of improving worldwide operations and reducing the number of operational audits that are conducted. How did you end up working for IATA? I sent an application for the position, went through a rigorous selection process, and am happy to be part of a team that is making a real difference in aviation safety worldwide. What are your short-term plans in your current position? My short-term goal is to participate in the implementation of the Quality Assurance Program at IOSA (Quality Control to Quality Assurance) and the development of ISO standards for certiﬁcation extension to the Safety, Operations and Infrastructure Division at IATA. What are your long-term career ambitions? My long-term career ambitions are to be completely integrated in the Safety, Operations and Infrastructure Division at IATA and contribute to the success of various projects of the Division. My advice to students hoping to work in the aviation is to be creative and have multiple skills.
