This is causing a great deal of stress to us all and presents some opportunities for the creative among us. For many of our friends, the hardship is severe—some are losing their jobs. I’d like to believe that ISTAT serves as an excellent networking opportunity for those aviation professionals seeking job opportunities and the member companies seeking experienced, talented individuals. It warms my heart when I hear from members who have told me that the relationships they have built at the various ISTAT events have become invaluable to them. On a related note, our conference event planning is going quite well. However, as you can imagine, the fundraising part of the process has become tougher and tougher, as budgets have become tighter and tighter. Please keep ISTAT at the front of your mind as you look for promotional opportunities for your company. ISTAT conference sponsorship opportunities truly represent the best value in the industry when it comes to investing your limited promotional resources. Nowhere else can you ﬁnd the concentration of senior aviation executives. I must also stress that ISTAT is a not-for-proﬁt organization, and the majority of our annual operations is funded through our event sponsorship revenues. No individual or group of “shareholders” beneﬁts from this revenue. It all goes to the Society and to our charitable arm, the ISTAT Foundation. We rely heavily on our members to sponsor these events to put them on and to run the society.
