While previous editions of the show often suffered under logistical problems for the many visitors making their way to the showground from London, this year very few complaints could be heard. Frequent, comfortable trains from Waterloo station and a well-organized shuttle bus service actually made for a pleasant journey. to its testing routing in Seattle, escorted by two British warbirds. Airbus obviously refused to be outdone by its American rival and showed the always spectacular A380 as well as its two new cargo planes. The all-new A400M “Grizzly” military transport showed its amazing agility in the daily ﬂying display. Maybe more relevant for ISTAT members was the show debut of the A330-200 Freighter, easily recognizable by its “chin” to accommodate the lowered nose-gear. While the A330 Freighter had a difﬁcult start due to the cargo crisis in 2008-09, sales prospects must be improving as the demand for cargo capacity is recovering strongly. Back to the Dreamliner. Boeing decided to make the most of its short stay at Farnborough by inviting its business partners to have a look at the plane from the inside.
