NCL does not have the equipment on board to assist
guests with any type of dialysis treatment. NCL has
its own charging system similar to shoreside facilities
in the U.S. and we do follow standard medical care.
Please ensure you have appropriate travel insurance to
cover all medical expenses. Please note when sailing in
Australian waters, the ship does not operate under the
Medicare system and cannot be used as payment.
CAN I SMOKE ON BOARD?
We want you to be comfortable on board, so staterooms
and public areas throughout all our ships are smokefree.
If you smoke cigarettes, you can do so in the Casino
(players only) or in the Cigar Bar (where available). If
you prefer pipes or cigars, you can smoke in the Cigar
Bar or designated smoking lounge. Also, you can
smoke cigarettes, pipes and cigars in outdoor public
guest spaces and open decks where designated by the
appropriate signage. Please be aware that e-cigarettes
cannot be used in public areas where there is a no
smoking policy in force. Smoking inside your stateroom
or on your balcony will result in a US $250 cleaning
charge added to your onboard account. Please note that
some countries have imposed a ban on e-cigarettes.
WHAT ABOUT ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AND
WINE CORKAGE?
On itineraries that include a port in the United States
of America, Canada or China, guests must be 21 years
of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol except
as below (terms and conditions may vary on alcoholic
beverage packages, please check at the time of
booking). On all other itineraries this regulation applies
to guests aged 18 or above with the exception of guests
who are citizens of the United States of America, Canada
or China (who must be at least 21).
On cruises that include a port in the United States of
America, Canada or China but with the exception of
Alaska and Hawai'i itineraries, NCL permits young
adults between 18 and 20 years of age to purchase
and personally consume wine and beer only while on
board and with the consent of an accompanying parent.
Authorisation will be given only when the accompanying
parent completes the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage
Waiver form. This form can be obtained and completed
at the Guest Services Desk on embarkation.
All guests are prohibited from bringing alcohol on board
our ships. If you purchase any alcohol at one of our ports
of call or in our onboard shops, we will safely store your
purchase(s) and on the final night of the cruise it will be
available for pickup in a designated area. Please note
that for wine and champagne you purchase on board, a
corkage fee will apply if consumed on board.
NCL encourages the responsible use of alcohol and
accordingly reserves the right to permanently or
temporarily revoke the drinking privileges of any guest
who violates NCL's Guest Code of Conduct or who is
deemed a danger to themselves or others by vessel
management. Continued abuse of alcohol while sailing
and/or violation of NCL's alcohol policy may result in
immediate disembarkation.
HOW DO I GET ASHORE?
In most ports your ship docks right alongside the quay
and you simply walk ashore. At a few ports, we drop
anchor at sea, and you go ashore in the ship's small
boats - called tenders - which offer a complimentary
shuttle service to and from the port.
If the guest is unable to walk onto the tender, the
total weight of the guest & wheelchair cannot exceed
100 pounds. This is for the safety of the crew as NCL
depends 100% on manpower to either lift the wheelchair
or the wheelchair and the guest onto the tender. The only
one that can determine if the transfer would take place
is the Staff Captain. Factors such as weather and sea
conditions are taken into consideration.
Note: Scooters and wheelchairs and/or guests that
weigh 100lbs (45 kg) or more are not allowed to be
transferred (lifted and carried) from the ship to the tender
and/or from the tender to shore.
Please be advised that tender ports are subject to
change without notice.
WILL I NEED AN ELECTRICAL ADAPTER?
The voltage on board is 110 volts. For local appliances
a converter may be needed (U.S. norm). Hairdryers are
provided in all staterooms and suites. Irons and ironing
boards can be requested through housekeeping or the
Guest Services Desk.
WHAT IF I NEED TO STAY IN TOUCH WHILE
I'M AWAY?
All our ships are equipped with 24-hour Internet Cafés.
In addition, in most areas throughout the ship you
can connect to our WiFi network on your own devices
(charges apply).
Telephone and fax services are available at applicable
ship-to-shore rates

You
can also stay connected on the high seas using your
own compatible mobile phone. International
roaming
charges are billed to your home account. Check with
your service provider before travelling. Final rates are
determined by your service provider and not NCL.
WHAT ABOUT SAFETY AND SECURITY?
NCL adheres to the highest standard of shipbuilding in
the world. All our ships meet the most current SOLAS
specifications. Our ships also pass annual government
safety and sanitation inspections. On the first day of your
cruise, you will be asked to take part in an obligatory life
boat drill, where you will learn what to do in case of an
emergency (see back of your stateroom door for more
information). All NCL ships are fully stabilised for the
smoothest possible cruising.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE LAST DAY
OF MY CRUISE?
If you have booked Cruise Only, you will proceed
through customs and immigration and continue with
your
independent arrangements. Please ensure that
you have arranged for a suitable flight time taking into
consideration customs and immigration procedures
and the transfer time to the airport. In some ports you
can take advantage of our 'Easy Walk-Off' option. This
means you can leave the ship as soon as it is cleared by
local authorities, carrying all your luggage off the vessel
yourself.
HOW TO HONOUR GOOD SERVICE.
Onboard service charges relating to services provided
by stateroom attendants and dining room staff are
included in your voyage fare for all Australia & New
Zealand booking made after the 1st of July 2022.
This fee will be shared between those staff members,
including
the
restaurant
staff, Stateroom stewards
and other behind-the-scenes staff who have provided
services to enhance your overall cruise experience.
Certain staff positions (e.g., beverage service, concierge,
butler and youth counsellors) do not benefit from this
shared service charge because they provide services
to only some Guests, and not all. If you have received
excellent service from any of these staff members, you
may wish to acknowledge them on an individual basis.
If you have any concerns about the service you receive
during your cruise, please let the staff at our service desk
on-board (the " Guest Services Desk " ) know right away,
so we can address any issues in a timely manner.
For all spa and salon services, beverage purchases,
specialty restaurant dining and entertainment-based
dining, there will be an additional 20% service charge
added to the total cost of the service.
