A LETTER FROM OUR CEO
2018 was another exceptional year full of meaningful accomplishments for our company. We
welcomed our 26th ship into the fleet, Norwegian Bliss, expanded sailings to highly sought-after
premium destinations such as Alaska and Cuba while also generating another year of industryleading, record financial results. And thanks to the efforts of our 33,000 team members around
the globe, we made substantial progress on our global environmental program "Sail & Sustain"
and on our goals to increase sustainable sourcing, minimize waste to landfills, invest in emerging
technologies and reduce CO2 emissions.
Our 2018 Stewardship Report reinforces our mission to provide exceptional vacation experiences
while at the same time, fostering a culture of awareness and respect for our world's natural resources
and in the communities where we operate. We announced an important next step in our efforts to
reduce single-use plastics by eliminating plastic straws across all 26 ships in our fleet and on our two
island destinations, Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye. We paved the way for the industry as the
first cruise operator to join Ocean Conservancy's Trash Free Seas Alliance® to support our shared
vision of a world with waterways, beaches and oceans free of plastic waste. We also launched the
largest fundraising campaign in the company's history, Hope Starts Here, to reconstruct schools and
critical infrastructure in Caribbean islands impacted by the fall 2017 hurricanes.
We are proud of our achievements to date and remain steadfastly dedicated to responsible business
practices that encourage the preservation of the natural resources that are integral to our success.
Looking ahead, our belief that there is always more to do drives our commitment for continuous
improvement. I invite you to join us on our journey to Sail & Sustain for years to come.
