Bottoms Up
Carpet companies respond to the new
way of doing business

I

f there's one thing hospitality carpet manufacturers can
agree upon it's that things in the industry are looking up,
and thanks to that they have less time than ever.
After a long period of little to no upgrades across all
hotel levels, properties are fi nally ready to start much-needed
renovations, or are coming into construction after prolonged
hiatuses. Flooring materials, particularly carpeting (still a near
must for most hotel environments) are poised to benefit, and are
already feeling the push from designers to start creating new and
innovative products faster.
"As all carpet manufacturers were impacted by the recession,
so was Lexmark Carpet," says Tammy Horn, marketing director
of Lexmark Carpet. But now, she says, the economy is continuing
to improve and the company is seeing strong growth patterns as
a result. "We are even getting close to returning to pre-recession
sales numbers."
