Above: Olive trees, eclectic lighting, and terrazzo that wraps the length
of the bar wall and onto the floor add to the complexity of the interiors.

Classic walnut balanced by eye-catching aqueous blue tile, mosaic, and a smattering of succulents
conjure a breezy courtyard atmosphere that is heightened by towering olive trees in dialogue with light
fixtures that telegraph labyrinthine bazaars. The centerpiece fountain, theatrical yet subdued, further
strengthens the relationship between indoors and outdoors, its water trickling vertically from the ceiling
down through Mylar tubes.
Hidden at the back of a long, mysterious hallway bedecked with hand-penciled stencils, Meso's restroom
facilities are one of Yoo's favorite under-the-radar aspects. Inside, the palette shifts light and creamy-the
stone, ceramic, and arches forming yet another discreet pocket, she says, of "retreat and serenity."
