Recognizing NEWH's scholarship sponsors and
catching up with past recipients

he NEWH Harvey Nudelman scholarship-NEWH's longest running-award has been given to 12 students. Sponsored by Corporate
Partner Fabricut Contract and FR One, it honors Nudelman, Fabricut's former president and an NEWH ICON of Industry who
passed away in 2013. The scholarship is open to interior design students and is indicative of Fabricut's enduring commitment to

supporting both NEWH and students pursuing careers in hospitality.
"Whether it's our sales reps participating in their local
chapter events, corporately exhibiting at Regional
Tradeshows and Leadership Conferences, or serving
as an NEWH Ambassador on the board of directors,
Fabricut Contract is committed to championing
NEWH's efforts," explains Matt DeShantz, Fabricut Contract's vice president. "Not only is it the professional and business rewards that
we have individually experienced from NEWH, but it is also the personal reward of knowing that we are building opportunities for the
hospitality industry's next generation of great leaders."
Nudelman began his textile career in Chicago in 1961 as a salesman for Tempo Fabrics and
later the owner of Westport Fabrics in Kansas City. In 1968, he joined Fabricut Inc. as vice

president of sales and the following year launched its hospitality division, Fabricut Contract;
he was promoted to president of Fabricut Inc. in 1978. He helped with the purchase of Lazarus
Fabrics in 1980 to further Fabricut Contract's place and product offering in the hospitality
industry; not long after, S. Harris Contract launched. Throughout his many years with Fabricut
Inc., Nudelman served as a mentor to many industry leaders and associates. Whether their
careers began with Harvey, or his friendship and guidance instilled the confidence needed to
succeed, they have become major contributors within the hospitality industry. His devotion
to industry innovations was instrumental in the collaboration with FR-One® to bring its brand
and products to the United States in 2007. Harvey was an active member of NEWH since its
inception as a corporate sponsor, scholarship advocate and contributor, and founders meeting
