CHAPTER HIGHLIGHTS

Mid-South
Region
The region is excited to announce Hannah
McCarley as its 2019 scholarship winner.
Hannah is pursuing a master of design
studies concentrated in hospitality design
at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and
Design at the University of Arkansas. She
earned a bachelor of interior design from the
University of Arkansas in May 2019. During
her studies, Hannah had the opportunity
to learn the history of interior design and
landscape architecture in Italy, France, and the
UK. Additionally, she was chosen to represent
the school's department of interior design at
ICFF in New York, where her furniture design
project was selected for exhibition. McCarley
has worked in her school's Materials Lab and
is currently working as a studio assistant
for the first-year interior design studio.

Last year, the region collaborated with IIDA,
ASID, IDS, and NKBA to host a hotel tour and

rooftop social at the Hu Hotel in downtown
Memphis. And, Presley the Pineapple had a

Arizona
In October, the chapter's annual Supper Club
was held on the outdoor patio at Fellow Osteria
in Scottsdale. Born & Raised Hospitality Group
founders Nicholas Campisano and Joshua James'
vision to bring everybody together through food
and hospitality has been well executed at Fellow
Osteria, as it has at their other establishments,
Clever Koi and Across the Pond. The chapter
thanks the attendees as well as drink sponsor
Facings of America.
The chapter also met with students of the
Interiors Student Alliance at Arizona State
University in September. ISA is the student
organization for interior design and interior
architecture at ASU and the home for IIDA
and ASID campus centers. Chapter president
Michelle Purcell shared the NEWH mission and
the benefits of networking and joining the local
chapter. Alia Sugarman, student at ASU and 2019
ISA treasurer, also shared personal experiences
from her involvement with the Northwest chapter.
