Bone-building nutrients go beyond calcium. Eating a wide variety of nutrient-dense
foods will supply your body with not only calcium, but other lesser-known bone-supporting
nutrients.

TIPS FOR EATING
HEALTHY:
TIP #1.
Always include fiber: Choose foods that contain dietary
fiber. A few examples are vegetables, beans, lentils, fruits,
whole grains, and quinoa. Dietary fiber is the undigested
components of your meal that is not digested by stomach
acids and passes to the large intestine.
TIP #2.
Add plenty of fresh and preferably organic veggies and
fruits: An excellent strategy is to include all colors of
the rainbow. Some examples are yellow squash, green
spinach, red beets/tomatoes, and colorful berries-raspberries,
strawberries, blueberries. The recommendation is
to fill at least half of your plate with vegetables and fruits.
Incorporating these colorful veggies and fruits provides essential
vitamins and minerals including magnesium, zinc,
and antioxidants such as beta-carotene and lycopene.
Plus, it keeps your skin healthy, and a diet high in fiber also
promotes weight loss.
TIP #3.
Eat a combination of carb + protein + healthy fat in
your main meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
A combination of carbohydrates and protein helps
keep your body functioning well and keeps you
energized. Carbs provide instant energy, while
protein provides building blocks for cell repair
and renewal. Healthy fats keep you full and
give you energy. Incorporate more protein as
it fills you up and is healthier for you than a
heavy carbohydrate-filled diet.
TIP #4.
Practice clean eating: Clean eating means
eating foods as close to nature as possible. This
includes choosing ingredients that are not altered
heavily from their natural state. Clean eating
eliminates most processed food, refined grains,
trans fats, artificial colorants, additives in packaged
foods, added sugar, added salt, and other ingredients
that are typically found in most packaged foods.
