Brooksville, FL Cheryl Stetson Cranberry Hospice Plymouth, MA *as of May 1, 2011 Get Involved There are two ways to connect with fellow CNAs in hospices around the country: Monthly Chats Each month, the NCHPP CNA Section holds a “chat”— or conference call—which is open to all NCHPP members.* These chats are one of the easiest ways to communicate as a diverse group of professionals who are working in all corners of the country. While the format is informal, each chat focuses on a specific topic. For example, NCHPP Allied Therapy Section leader, Valerie Hartman, facilitated the April chat, exploring the role of comforting touch and basic massage in the CNA’s practice, while NHPCO’s Jennifer Kennedy discussed Hospice CoPs relevant to the CNA’s practice during the March chat. When the Chats are Held: CNA chats are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. (ET). Joining the Chats: To join the CNA chat, simply call 1-866-354-8046. However , please do NOT dial in earlier than 2:55 p.m. (ET) on the day of the call. My.NHPCO This is NHPCO’s professional networking site, which is free to all NCHPP members.* Each NCHPP Section has an eGroup (much like NHPCO’s old listserves, but better) and an eLibrary through which they can exchange ideas and share information. Just visit the My.NHPCO website, and go to the tab, “Getting Started,” (in the top right corner of the screen) for details. * In order to join a chat or utilize My.NHPCO, you must first be enrolled as an NCHPP member (which is also free to all staff and volunteers of NHPCO providermembers).
