Arlene Click Receives 2012 Torchbearer Award
American Hospice (based in Jacksonville, FL) has awarded Arlene Click the 2012
Andrew T. Parker Torchbearer Award, established in 2011 in memory of American
Hospice founder and former president, Andrew T. Parker.

Click, who serves as a hospice aide at Hospice of Arizona, was chosen from a group of more than 800 hospice
staff from American Hospice’s eight locations nationwide. The panel of judges was especially impressed by her
positive energy, compassion, and demonstrated dedication to the mission and standards of the organization.
Star Greenhouse Brightened the Holidays for State of the Heart Hospice Patients
Every year for the past 12 years, Star
Greenhouse in North Star, Ohio, has
donated poinsettias to State of the Heart
Hospice for delivery to its patients.
According to hospice volunteer
coordinator, Pauline Faller, the
deliveries have become a special
tradition for the staff and volunteers
involved. “It’s heartwarming for staff

Charles Lee and David Jones Join Cornerstone Hospice
Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care (based in Orlando, FL) has appointed Charles Lee as president/CEO,
and David Jones as CFO.
Charles Lee, MA, MBA, has led patient care operations, strategic planning, fund raising,
business development, and volunteer recruitment at several hospice organizations,
most recently as COO of Hospice of Chattanooga. He assumed his role at Cornerstone
Hospice on January 2, replacing interim CEO, Mary Manrique, who did not pursue the
permanent position and will resume her role as COO.

David Jones, CPA, MBA, has more than 23 years of senior finance management
experience, and has been serving as the interim CFO
since January of 2012. He led an initiative to re-engineer the
organization’s financial reporting, which improved
governance and allowed management to focus
more on key issues.
