celebrating 10 years of excellence in design ASID Illinois Chapter is a community of people driven by a common love for design and committed to the belief that interior design, as a service to people, is a powerful, multi-faceted profession that can positively change people’s lives. Through education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, community building and outreach, the Society strives to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design. Its more than 30,000 members engage in a variety of professional programs and activities through a network of 48 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. The American Society of Interior Designers - Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL) is a professional association representing the interests of over 1,100 interior designers, students and design industry partner members in Illinois. 10 Years ago the Illinois Chapter announced its first Design Excellence Competition. Over the past ten years, ASID Illinois has had the opportunity to showcase the work of talented designers from both small and large architectural and interior design firms throughout the state of Illinois. All ASID and IIDA Illinois Chapter members as well as registered interior designers in the state of Illinois are eligible to participate in the competition. Designers submit their entries in residential, contract, product design and historic restoration categories. Each year the competition is judged by a panel of judges who are recognized as leaders in the interior design industry. The competition culminates when winners are announced at the annual Celebration of Design Gala. Celebration of Design is the annual awards program hosted by the ASID Illinois Chapter honoring the Design Excellence Competition winners. The venue for the 10th Anniversary dinner and awards ceremony is the historic Stock Exchange Trading Room at the Art Institute of Chicago. This iconic room represents Chicago’s great architectural tradition and is the ideal venue to celebrate the chapter, honor this year’s winners and pay tribute to the past ten years of award recipients.
