Apple W | hen there are YouTube videos of babies, toddlers and even cats properly operating your devices, you know you have taken over the world. Add to that 3 million iPads sold in three days, and it is pretty much solidified. Cupertino, Calf.-based Apple Inc. has changed the way we communicate, get information, listen to music and read—is there anything you can’t do with an Apple device? Where else do people queue up for days for the chance to be one of the first to get their hands on the newest version of the iPad or iPhone (the 5 version is rumored to be launching by the end of the year) but outside one of Apple’s 373 retail stores? It’s been an emotional year for the company. Founder and former CEO Steve Jobs passed away in October, but the company has kept his spirit and innovation alive with several product launches—the third-generation iPad in March and the all-new MacBook Pro in June, and its OS X Mountain Lion operating system in July, downloads of which exceeded 3 million in four days, according to Apple. Their retail model remains the picture of ease of use and hands-on experimentation, with the Genius Bar at the ready to assist, and devices set up around the sleek stores, so guests can get the feel of them. Best of all, you can buy an Apple product with your Apple app on your Apple device while standing in an Apple store and be on your way.
