Prestigious Uruguayan architect Carlos Gilardi constructed the stunning 93-suite, spa retreat on the hillside property where the family’s holiday home was formerly located. His challenge was to integrate the building into the topography and take advantage of its incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea and Sierra Helada Mountains. The five-structure modernist complex, connected by bridges, sits like a multi-storied ocean liner studded by pools, terraces, and flower-filled planters.
