Now, as part of Laramar’s “Green Team,” Woodward is exploring opportunities to not only make the company’s properties more eco-friendly but also to teach its residents how to embrace green in their own lives. Jenny Vallimont, LEED AP, has been with Crosland since 2005, but it wasn’t until this year that she was named manager of sustainability. Prior to the creation of this position, Crosland had implemented a green committee to discuss how to make the Charlotte, N.C.-based developer more environmentally responsible. Mark Humphreys With eight regional offices, in addition to operations in Dubai; Chennai, India; and Sao Paulo, Brazil, Humphreys’ business plan is one of international diversification. “It helps with the ups and downs of the economy,” admits Humphreys, who is CEO of Humphreys and Partners Architects LP. Humphreys predicts that Dubai will take off as a vacation hot spot and that some surprising countries will follow suit. Christopher Donatelli, president of Donatelli Development, is helping to enliven Washington, D.C. neighborhoods with his most recent transit-oriented, mixed-use developments.
