ASACP was named a winner in the 2008 Associations Make a Better World Awards, an international awards competition, sponsored by ASAE and the Center for Association Leadership, for its work ensuring that the adult entertainment industry’s content is by adults and for adults only. Wii WOULD LIKE TO DO BUSINESS: Trade show traffic was at its greatest on Sunday, Aug. 18, with attendees and exhibitors networking and walking amid the 914 trade show booths. Hightech giveaways such as iPods and Nintendo Wii game consoles—as well as airline tickets and free site inspections—may have stoked some interest, but planners were eager to meet exhibitors that market exclusively to the association segment. A MOMENT TO REMEMBER: David Noonan (center), deputy vice president and COO of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, became the second recipient of the Professional Performance Award recognizing the invaluable contributions made by association executives who are at the top level within their organizations but are not CEOs. “It’s an honor to receive this recognition from my peers,” said Noonan. “The association community offers a platform for achieving a satisfying career in change management and an opportunity for personal growth.
