news newh and the chapters cream of the crop NEWH, Inc. is introducing Top ID, a new way to connect its members. “The initial spark that created this idea was a result of many publications contacting us wanting to learn more about our organization and feature NEWH and its members in their publications,” explains Trisha Poole, VP of marketing for NEWH. “Many of these publications were looking for our design membership to contact and pull editorial content. With this being a great opportunity for our membership, we (the NEWH, Inc office) did not want to offer a random selection of members to contact so we developed the Top ID list as a way for our chapters to nominate three exceptional design firms each. This gives us an opportunity to not only promote our current loyal design members, it helps us grow this very important demographic. It will make our chapters and organization as a whole much stronger.” After reviewing its active membership, each chapter board nominates design firms that have at least one active NEWH member and whose body of work consists of at least 75 percent hospitality projects. Once selected, NEWH will post three photographs of the three design firms’ recent work, and link back to their websites. “In summary, this is just another opportunity for NEWH to give back to those that support our industry and support our initiatives to build a brighter future for hospitality,” says Poole. CHAPTER Dallas More than 75 designers, industry members, and students attended the launch party for the chapter’s Life of Design fundraising event at Komali Restaurant. During the evening, designers were randomly paired with a chair sponsor manufacturer for the October 14th event’s chair design, and it was announced that thanks to the sponsors, more than $30,000 was raised prior to ticket sales. gala on Saturday, November 5th at the Wynn Las Vegas.
