Partner Pro les Electric Mirror “We have a lineup of products to be released this year—two of the major technologies are channel mapping and color integration,” explains Electric Mirror CEO Jim Mischel. “We’ve given hotel owners and operators the ability to match the bathroom channel lineup to the guestroom lineup. We’ve also developed a process that allows us to put color or high-de nition images in the mirror, letting designers choose more than just the lighting pattern.” Sustainability is also top priority: “We’ve focused on creating a sustainable, maintenance-free line of products. Our lamps have a seven-year lifecycle, seriously reducing maintenance costs, as well as land ll waste.” Besides growing its product offerings, Electric Mirror has been building its staff in nearly every department, including customer support and engineering, as well as a new production line. Says Mischel. “We are aiming to grow by 20 percent in 2012 to offer better service to our current clients, and have more capacity for new ones.” “We’re also looking forward to our global expansion,” adds Mischel. “Our London of ce headed by Chris Bruce is doing quite well—increasing our presence in the EMEA regions. We’ve seen signi cant growth in the Middle East recently and are looking forward to continuing down that path.” And NEWH is part of Electric Mirror’s growth plans. “We want to invest in the long-term success of the hospitality industry,” says Mischel. “NEWH is all about the development of the next generation of hospitality leaders. It’s a great organization that brings us together. And for us, it’s a great networking opportunity to build relationships within the industry.” Lexmark is planning its largest launch of new products for both the guestroom and public spaces in its 18-year history at HD Expo in Las Vegas. Says David Martin, regional VP of sales, “We will also be debuting a new Stacy Garcia guestroom product called Understory, a perfect example of Stacy’s unique talents in both pattern and coloration. The second collection from Esther Dunbar Cullum will be launched at HD Expo. This collection builds upon the Elysian Collection with more design and color options for corridor/public use. We will also be adding guestroom styles that coordinate with corridor/public space collection. In addition, we have expanded our color bank of Solution Dyed Nylon colors, including two metallic options that can be used to create unique cutting-edge color options.” Other initiatives for the company include a residential division, which will focus on stylish, mid-range price points that are made from the company’s in-house Primus solution dyed PET. “Lexmark has experienced solid growth in the fourth quarter of 2011 and the uptick has continued in 2012, and we are hoping to continue this momentum,” says Martin. “Throughout the downturn in our economy we have made our No. 1 priority not to go stagnant. We have continued to invest in our business with multi-million dollar purchases of extrusion equipment, tufting machines, building expansions, and twisting and heat setting equipment.” Adds Martin, “Lexmark is very proud of our affiliation with NEWH—it is a phenomenal organization that truly gives back to our industry, from the scholarship program to the trade shows everything is top notch.” Kohler Company Kohler recently launched several new products, including the Numi toilet. Numi is Kohler’s most advanced toilet, featuring a heated seat and foot warmer, touchscreen control, integrated music system, and auto open and close toilet seat. Says Wendy Grossmann, Kohler’s senior corporate account executive, worldwide, “Kohler Co. always strives to be on the leading edge of design and technology. Kohler Co. has the keen ability to marry form and function in a way that nds the intricate balance and does not sacri ce either beauty or functionality.” In 2012, the company looks forward to introducing more products with more advance technology and outstanding design. And Grossmann predicts 2012 to be an exciting year for the company. As for NEWH, she says, “Kohler’s support of NEWH gives us the opportunity to give back to the community, as well as offering local sales teams a way to connect with the communities they reach. It is important for us as a company to have a personal connection with our customers, and NEWH gives us that chance.” P/Kaufmann Contract (PKC) is a founding member of the Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Consortium (HSPC), through which it will engage with clients and peers in a broad but focused dialogue to establish a Sustainability Purchasing Index. For P/Kaufmann, the initiative provided the company with an opportunity to celebrate the good work it does, such as recycling gifts to Good360, supporting non-profits on a corporate and employee-funded level, and continuing to progress toward its environmental goals. PKC will launch its new Indoor/Outdoor collection this year at HD Expo in Las Vegas. The collection marries linen-like textures with high performance product made of pre-consumer recycled polypropylene. The company anticipates 2012 to continue the growth PKC has seen in 2011. “As always, we appreciate all the good work NEWH does to provide networking for our industry’s professionals and financial support to students interested in the hospitality industry. We are proud to be a supporter of their efforts.” Thanking NEWH’s 2012 Corporate Partners Benefactor: DURKAN HOSPITALITY | KOHLER COMPANY | ULSTER Patron: AMERICAN LEATHER | FABRICUT CONTRACT/ S.
