Conneaut Leather
Located in Northeast Ohio since 1903, Conneaut Leather is one of the most experienced leather manufacturers
in the U.S. In-stock leathers, custom color matching, hundreds of embossing options, and the ability to digitally
cut patterns are just a few of the reasons to partner with Conneaut Leather.
After years of private labeling leather for other textile companies in the A&D industry, Conneaut Leather
recently launched a brand new hospitality division. “As a totally vertical leather manufacturer, we are at
a unique advantage in regards to offering competitive pricing, short lead times, and custom leather options. We actually control the product
from the purchase of the raw hide all the way through the final finishing processes. It gives designers the ability to meet lean budgets and tight
deadlines while maintaining a level of luxury within each project,” explains Jimmy DiLella, Conneaut’s director of business development.
“NEWH is a fantastic platform for us to build relationships and give back to various communities all across the country. All of our sales
representatives are heavily involved in their respective chapters and we are excited to support such a wonderful organization. Conneaut
Leather is looking forward to growing alongside the next generation of hospitality leaders,” adds DiLella. www.conneautleather.com
Hospitality Media Group
Hospitality Media Group (HMG) was recently formed “for purposes of developing and managing
trade fairs and events in the global hospitality industry,” says Michelle Finn, the HMG’s president.
First up is the company’s inaugural Boutique Design West (BDwest) tradeshow April 4-5th at the San Diego Convention Center, sponsored
by Boutique Design, in association with NEWH, AH&LA, ISHP, and BLLA. “BDwest is a new specialized trade fair for hospitality design
professionals and a brand expansion of our highly successful BDNY trade fair held in New York City, in conjunction with IHMRS,” says Finn.
Highlights of the show: the Hospitality Fashion Challenge: Design in a Box, a joint event from the Los Angeles Founding and Orange County
Regional chapters, and NEWH’s Icon Award Breakfast and Power Players: Women Leaders in Hospitality panel discussion, moderated by Mary
Scoviak, executive editor, Boutique Design, and sponsored by NEWH and WIL (AH&LA’s Women in Lodging).
HMG will also manage the International Hotel Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS), November 9-13th, in New York. One change: the Gold
Key design awards (where NEWH also celebrates its Icon Award) will move from a breakfast celebration to an evening affair on Sunday,
November 10th.
“We believe in collaboration, and partnering with NEWH has allowed us to tap into their wonderful depth of resources and in return we
share ours with them,” says Finn. “NEWH brings resources and connectivity to our industry and supports scholarships for those in need—a
cause greatly needed in our industry. We applaud NEWH’s efforts in connecting our industry and giving back to community. It is a pleasure
and an honor to support NEWH as a corporate partner this year and their numerous endeavors throughout the year.”
Lexmark Carpet Mills, Inc.
Lexmark has been aggressively introducing new products. “It seems business conditions are improving
and we want to keep new fresh products in front of our customers,” says Sam Burger, Lexmark’s vice
president of sales.
Eight new offerings are aimed at guestroom and public spaces. For the latter, there are Vibes, Xing,
and Fleur, which are produced on the company’s Colortuft machine, available in a corridor pattern and
two coordinating broadloom patterns, and are made with Lexmark’s Lextron-Enviro-Green yarn system.
For the guestrooms, there are Karma, Liv, and Lavo. Karma and Liv are produced on 1/10 gauge enhanced loop machine, and are tip sheared
to create unique textures, while Lavo is produced on the company’s 1/10 gauge single end servo scroll machine.
The company has also launched Groove to its Stacy Garcia collection, and Fluency from Esther Dunbar Collum.
“Lemark has been hit like everyone else during the downturn, but instead of pulling back, we took advantage of the slowdown to increase
and modernize some of our equipment,” says Burger, adding that the company has implemented several recycling policies as well that reduce
waste in its manufacturing processes. “We feel that we are in a great position to offer exceptional design and industry leading production
times as business conditions improve.”
As for NEWH: “Every year when discussing budget items, the one topic that is never brought up is Lexmark’s commitment to NEWH. This partnership
has been in place for many years and we are proud to be part of an organization that promotes and gives back to the hospitality industry.”

Mandy Li Collection
In the fall of 2012, Mandy Li Collection teamed up with hospitality design veteran, Becka Chester, to
create a new Boutique collection—contemporary pieces inspired by the graceful lines of Art Deco
and Art Nouveau creations. This year, the company has also re-vamped its interior door brochure to
include more contemporary options and styles of doors and handles. “We are continuing our efforts towards sustainability, customer brand
loyalty, and industry involvement,” says the company’s CEO and president, Mandy Li.
As for faring in today’s challenging economy: “I strongly believe that our continued growth and success in the industry is due, in large part,
to our dedication to maintain the highest level of customer service,” Li says. “We have also not lost sight of the importance of quality control,
the integrity of our products, and meeting our internal performance metrics. [At the same time], we maintain strong lines of communication
with our factory partners to ensure that we can provide the best possible price options. It is in this manner that we are able to offer competitive
pricing, and still take pride in our work. We stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of everything we do.”
As for NEWH, Li says, “As business leaders in the hospitality industry, we have a responsibility to contribute to industry dialogue, and
promote education and interest within our industry. NEWH has allowed us to become involved in their objective to do just this. For these
reasons, we will continue to support NEWH because we believe industry ties are as important as client relationships.” mandylicollection.com
