"Dreamlands: Immersive Cinema
and Art, 1905-2016"; Whitney
Museum of American Art, New
York, New York, USA

On through Feb. 5, 2017,
"Dreamlands" is the Whitney's most
technologically complex exhibition
to date, featuring multiple projects
that dissect the way artists use film
and moving images. The featured
artworks include installations,
drawings, 3D environments, sculpture,
performance, painting, and more.
Visitors are surrounded by more
than 18,000 square feet (1,672 square
meters) on multiple levels of pure
creative expression.

"Dreamlands: Immersive Cinema and Art, 1905-2016" at the Whitney Museum of American
Art in New York, New York, USA highlights how artists have reimagined cinema to create
new experiences of the moving image.

You can't always get what you want,
but if you try sometimes ... a little
musical inspiration is all you need.
"Exhibitionism-The Rolling Stones"
features the rock group's original
costumes, instruments, lyric books,
album art, and never-before-released
audio and behind-the-scenes footage.
The show will also showcase work
from artists and designers including
Andy Warhol, Alexander McQueen, and
L'Wren Scott. In a full-size re-creation of
the Stones' recording studio, visitors can
take a peek into the minds of some of the
rock stars.
"Exhibitionism" opened in New York's
Industria Superstudio in November and
is slated to travel on the remainder of its
four-year tour across 10 other cities.

"Jean Tinguely-Machine
Spectacle"; Stedelijk Museum
Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Swiss artist Jean Tinguely (1925-1991)
played a key role in the rise of kinetic art
in the 1950s. And now the Stedelijk is
mounting the largest exhibition
of Tinguely's work in a Dutch
museum. The exhibit will
feature hundreds of his machines,
along with corresponding movies,
photos, and drawings. The
exhibit will run in Amsterdam
through early March. Featured
works include early wire
sculptures; interactive
drawing machines; and wild
dancing installations
constructed from salvaged
metal, waste materials, and
discarded clothing.
