Developments By Meg Major Onions ‘Rouses’ Big Sales in Big Easy Fresh As a highlight of its campaign to target certain regions of the United States to increase brand awareness and increase register rings during the recently concluded peak Vidalia onion-growing season, the Vidalia Onion Committee (VOC) partnered for a series of cooking demonstrations with a variety of retailers, including Rouses Market, which has 31 locations in Louisiana and four Mississippi Gulf Coast stores. Wendy Brannen, VOC executive director, participated in the demos, which were a key element of her organization’s “Sweet Times with Vidalias Recipe Contest” that runs through Aug. 15.
