MEMBErSHiP NEWS n How to be Counted SBE Magazine talked with Membership and Registration Director Njemile A. Crawley recently about her part of NSBE’s mission. Membership is at the foundation of the National Society of Black Engineers, and yet most take our organization’s numbers for granted. We encourage you to read this interview to learn more about membership within NSBE, and why you should join, renew and refer someone, too! NM: Why is it so important that individuals renew their membership each year? CRAwLEY: Membership is the mainstay of the National Society of Black Engineers. The cliché that there is power in numbers rings true with an organization like this. Boasting a large membership allows NSBE to leverage its collective interests in defeating the barriers that exist for diversity in engineering, science and technology.
