The Backstory: the wild life HEAD LIKE A BUFFALO An inquisitive bison checks in on young visitor Parker Teague at the Olympic Game Farm outside Olympic National Park in Washington. The private farm once served as the holding facility for Disney's non-human actors. Today, the place provides sanctuary for rescued wildlife, trained animals, and other homeless beasts. It encourages visitors to learn about the plight of these magnificent creatures and advocate for their protection. It also allows guests to feed them-but only wheat bread, a solid source of fat and fiber. This animal awareness is key for park visitors, considering well-meaning, but sadly misinformed, tourists caused the euthanization of a newborn bison in Yellowstone in May when they put it in the back seat of their car because they thought it was cold.
