at the RANGER Station. Found in the

/ SNOW SHOW 2019

curated space of Venture Out, the
RANGER Station offers daily education, workshops, trend updates, merchandising displays, and good conversations. It's all about community.

PAINT FOR A CAUSE

Show-goers might remember artist Patrick Maxcy's climbing octopus mural from last
year. This week, the Show asked him to paint something more portable to raise money
for Adaptive Adventures, Camber Outdoors, the National Park Foundation, and Protect Our Winters. Never Summer donated four snowboard cores. "I wanted cores, because they're easier to paint on," Maxcy said, noting they didn't need to be primed or
sanded. Maxcy is painting two boards, but anyone passing by the RANGER Station can
pause to get artistic on a community-painted board. "Outdoor Retailer likes community involvement," Maxcy said. "So I said, 'let's have people paint them.'" -Jenn Fields

THE CAMP
