If anyone knows how to launch a successful career, it's Betsy Bertram, brand developer at Townsend Bertram & Company Adventure Outfitters. She'll be featured
on a panel of Skip Yowell Future Leadership Academy grads titled "The Future of
the Outdoor Industry: Launching and Maintaining a Sustainable Career" (tomorrow,
June 19, 2-3 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Denver). After all, Bertram's resume includes
everything from Kripalu yoga teacher to IKO certified kiteboarding instructor to
writer for Outdoor Retailer magazine. "The Skip Yowell FLA expanded my knowledge of the outdoor industry and connected me with inspired young leaders who
want to create meaningful change to better not just our industry but the world,"
she says. "These connections and the diverse topics covered in the program led me
to get more involved with Outdoor Industry Association and Grassroots Outdoor
Alliance, write articles for Snews, and build TB&C consulting. I now serve as VP of
the FLA board and am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of shaping alumni
engagement opportunities." The folks at TB&C are also hosting a session called
"Merchandising Magic" today at 9 a.m. in The Camp. -D.S.
