Pusher and Level Climbing set out to give a hand to the worst home gym
walls in the world. Needless to say, the results were ugly.

WITH CLIMBING GYMS CLOSED FOR THE PANDEMIC, ATHLETES
around the world are installing their own home walls-and the degrees
of quality vary greatly. In May, climbing hold companies Pusher and
Level Climbing held a lighthearted Instagram contest to find the
#worstwoodie. Climbers sent in pictures of their in-home gyms (aka
woodies), and the Instagram climbing community voted to decide
which one was the worst of the worst. The winner got a free set of Level
volumes and Pusher holds.
"Mike Bockino from Level called me and thought it would be a fun
little thing to do for people," says Pusher owner Jared Roth. "Hopefully,
we made a few people's lives better."
Roth and Bockino agreed to help out the people with the worst walls
instead of the best. "I just figured with all the peeps stuck at home, the
worst woodies needed more help than the best ones," says Bockino.
"Those are the ones that always win the free shit, so we went with 'worst,'
and it was amazing what people were climbing on." -Sam Kornylak
