Pew Research Center, three out of four Internet users are on
social media. But site preferences are split. Seventy-one percent of
online users like Facebook, and nearly half of them are seniors.
Pinterest and LinkedIn claim about 22 percent of online users. Of
these, users with a college degree and an income of at least $75,000
prefer LinkedIn, while four times more women than men use Pinterest.
Twitter and Instagram garner around 18 percent of Internet users.
Instagram users age 18-29 have increased from 28 percent to 37
percent since 2012. Both sites are popular with this demographic, but
few users over age 50 use Twitter or Instagram.
