engage Window or Aisle? Chatting with a Frequent Flyer Fiona Dias, the chief strategy officer for ShopRunner, mixes domestic business travel with international vacations. A native of Kenya, she now makes her home in Philadelphia. What does your company do? ShopRunner is an online, members-only shopping service that lets you buy across a whole bunch of retailers. Currently there are about 90, and members get free two-day shipping. How often do you travel? Fiona’s Travel Tip CHECK OUT THE GLOBAL ENTRY PROGRAM. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, PAY A FEE, AND GO TO AN INTERVIEW. ONCE YOU’RE CLEARED, YOU GO TO A GLOBAL ENTRY KIOSK, SCAN YOUR PASSPORT, AND PASS THROUGH CUSTOMS IN SECONDS. About every two to three weeks. It’s a blend of domestic travel for work and international travel for vacation. I actually just came back from vacationing in India and Morocco. What’s your favorite part of flying? else I can get on the flight — or I can buy what I need when I get to my destination. Do you have a favorite place to travel? The experience of being in flight, knowing I’m going somewhere else, and the anticipation of where I’m going. Sometimes people just want to hurry up and be there, but I enjoy the journey of getting there. Do you have a favorite airport? My favorite places are always somewhere warm. Especially when you live in the Northeast, you want to go anywhere warm. Our trips usually consist of going to Europe then down to Kenya. My family owns a safari company there, and I love being surrounded by nature and getting away from everything. Window or aisle? It would have to say Philadelphia because I spend a lot of time there. They’ve actually done a lot to make it enjoyable. One of my favorite places is XpresSpa to get a quick massage. When packing, what would you not want to forget? You know, it’s funny because I’ve gone back and forth. Generally the aisle because I can escape my seat easily. But on long flights, I’ll get the window because I don’t want to have someone jumping over me. Are you a US Airways frequent flyer with an interesting story to tell? Everything DIVIDEND MILES Insider LEARN MORE ABOUT TSA’S NEW PRE ™ INITIATIVE v The TSA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and US Airways are working together to implement an expedited security screening initiative at select airports. With TSA Pre ™, preapproved passengers may not need to remove their shoes, jacket, belt, 3-1-1 compliant bag from their carry-on bag, and laptop from bag. The program is available to U.S. citizens traveling within the U.S. who are either a Dividend Miles member determined eligible by the TSA, or an existing member of a CBP Trusted Traveler program, including Global Entry, SENTRI, or NEXUS. To determine if you’re eligible to participate, just log in to your Dividend Miles account and go to your profile. If you’re eligible, you will see the opt-in button at the bottom. If you’re not eligible through Dividend Miles, you can become a member of the Global Entry program, which allows preapproved passengers who are traveling internationally to enter the U.S. through an automated touch-screen kiosk.
