First place state-winners were honored at the annual State-Fish Art EXPO in Columbia, South Carolina. Included were the works of four Pennsylvania winners. An awards ceremony honored the winning artists. Wildlife Forever is a non-profit, all species conservation organization dedicated to preserving America's wildlife heritage. Pennsylvania is a partner in the contest. The contest requires students in grades kindergarten through 12 to depict any officially designated state fish and provide a composition related specifically to the fish's characteristics, habitat, behavior or efforts to conserve it.
