Madison Angstadt - Three-Year BSN program
Having someone invested in my future
means a great deal because helping others is
something I'm passionate about. The fact that
the scholarship fund donors are willing to
help others they don't even know to achieve
their dream is just amazing to me. It inspires
me to want to help others in need as well.
Steven Trupe - RN to BSN program
This scholarship helps me focus more on my
academics. The award showed me that my
hard work does not go unnoticed and there
are people out there, like those at the Seraph
Foundation, that appreciate what I am doing.

Erin Mitchell - RN to BSN program
I know I will be a great nurse one day and
it's thanks to the scholarship support that I
am able to prove to everyone what I see in
myself. I am very fortunate to have someone
invest in my future. I hope to be able to return
this support to future students in the nursing
program once I reach my dreams.
UNITED AUXILIARIES ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Cecelia Jinks - Three-Year BSN program
Ever since I was a child, whenever a family
member was ill, I stuck by their side and did
my best to ensure they felt better. The support
of the United Auxiliaries Scholarship has
allowed me to work part-time instead of fulltime during my first semester as I pursue my
goal of helping others through nursing.

New Scholarship Fund Supports Paramedic Program
The Dr. Charles D. Bortle Memorial Paramedic Scholarship was established in late 2017 with a generous gift
from Deborah Bortle in memory of her late husband. Before losing his five-and-a-half-year battle to renal cell
carcinoma on October 8, 2017, Dr. Bortle was Director for the Einstein Center for Clinical Competence. His
accomplished career included work as a paramedic, respiratory therapist, flight medic and ordained minister.
Dr. Bortle taught for LEMSA and was previously the Clinical Coordinator for St. Joseph's Hospital Paramedic
Program. The Bortle Scholarship will provide a $1,000 scholarship annually, from 2018 - 2027.
