GREETINGS
Today's health care system is evolving at a rapid pace.
One result has been information overload for student
nurses, as they must struggle to keep pace with emerging
drugs, procedures and knowledge. I'm proud to let you know
that we've responded to this challenge in a big way at
Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences by implementing
a new concept-based curriculum. This innovative approach
debuted with our new Three-Year BSN program-the first
program of its kind in the state of Pennsylvania-which
graduated its first cohort of 26 students this spring. (In the
coming semesters, we will apply this approach to our other
nursing programs as well.) As you'll discover in "What a Concept!" (p. 12), these new graduates are an
inspiring group-and they are leaving our College uniquely equipped to thrive in our ever-changing
world of health care.
