commitment, PA College successfully nominated him to
receive the 2017 Association of Fundraising Professionals
- Central Pennsylvania Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year
Award.
For Ken, family was everything. He and Susan were
married for more than 60 years. Together they raised
their son, David (Susan) and doted on their three
grandchildren - Josh (Elsie), Rob and Lily - and three
great-grandchildren - Ariya, Kenneth and Preston.
He loved his Lancaster County home, enjoying drives in
his convertible through the beautiful Amish countryside
and leisurely walks through Lancaster neighborhoods
with Susan by his side.
Born and raised in Lancaster, Ken was a proud member
of the Class of 1961 at McCaskey High School, where he
distinguished himself in track and football. He attended
the University of Richmond on scholarship, graduating
with a degree in business in 1965. He launched his
career with Aetna Life & Casualty and went on to found
StoudtAdvisors, a benefits consulting and brokerage firm,
in 1989.
Valued highly for his insight and community spirit, Ken
served on the boards of more than 30 area nonprofit
organizations, including Penn Medicine Lancaster
General Health, the United Way of Lancaster County and
the Lancaster Chamber. He provided exceptional volunteer
leadership as a Founding Board Member of Milagro House,
where the transformative impact of his service continues to
be felt.
Ken's abiding belief in the value of this college and the
inspiring generosity of the Stoudt family will have an
enduring impact. Through the endowed scholarship Ken and
Susan established, as well as the endowed fund they created
in support of the Stoudt Excellence in Teaching Award,
students and faculty for generations to come will learn of the
enormous affection Ken held for health care professionals
and those who educate them.
We mourn the passing of our dear friend, Ken Stoudt and
will lovingly cherish his memory always.
