The project in Zhuhai is one of the first demonstration
projects of the National Energy Administration of China
and is the world's largest multiterminal ac/dc-hybrid
flexible distribution network interconnection project. This
project has formed the technical standard specification of
flexible dc distribution network systems.
The project in Dongguan is the national key research
and development program of ac/dc-hybrid microgrid
renewable energy technology research. TBEA provides
the first domestic core equipment of an ac/dc-hybrid
microgrid project. It provides a set of systematic solutions
or ac/dc-hybrid microgrids from planning, operation, and
a high-quality power supply, and it achieves a major
breakthrough in the manufacturing of the core equipment
of ac/dc-hybrid microgrids. Among them, industrial and
commercial parks are the most widely used cases of
microgrids, so this article introduces Xi'an Industrial Park
in detail.
Introduction to the Xi'an Industrial
Park Microgrid
Background
In this article, we introduce the practical design, planning, and economic operation for the Xi'an Industrial
Park microgrid. Relying on the project of " National 863
Key Program-PV Microgrid Bidirectional Converter
Development and Key Technology Research, " the Xi'an
Industrial Park microgrid with commercial charging stations was constructed by TBEA. The types of power loads
in the park include production, experiment, office, living,
and charging stations. The maximum load power is
about 2 MW, equipped with 2-MW PV modules and
1-MWh energy storages (mainly supported by lithium
batteries). It consists of a container, battery pack, battery
management system, power conversion system, and
auxiliary control system (temperature control, fire protection, and so on).
The PV modules are connected to the 10-kV bus
through four 500-kW PV inverters and two 1-MVA power
transformers. The lithium batteries are connected to a
10-kV bus through two 500-kW energy-storage converters
and a 1.25-MVA power transformer. There are five power
transformers to provide the power supply for the park
production, research and development, and office and
dormitory power demands. In general, the total rated
power of this industrial park is 6.18 MW.
Furthermore, the electricity price mechanism of Xi'an
Industrial Park is " capacity price + time-of-use price. "
