The research works of this group focus on the state estimation
of batteries, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, battery life
estimation, and battery thermal modeling and management.

Recent Developments
The authors of this article, at the Battery Management
Systems Lab (BMS Lab, www.bmslab.org) are working on
developing robust approaches to battery management
systems including battery thermal management. The
BMS Lab is focused on measurement noise, bias, and
other uncertainties of battery management when it
comes to practical applications. Measurement noise
can significantly affect the performance of a battery
management system that was verified only in laboratory
environments. It was shown at the BMS Lab that the
measurement noise, when untreated, can cause significant
errors in system identification and predictive systems
