I prefer shooting a heavier arrow because it's more likely than a lighter one to penetrate deeper and completely pass through big game. And, as I see it, bowhunting is all about achieving passthrough shots and profuse blood trails that allow for quick game recovery. Of course, lighter arrows attain faster speeds and flatter trajectories at longer distances, and anyone paying attention to archery trends has noticed the move by manufacturers to offer lighter hunting arrows.
